Patience and Trusting the Process of Your Life | A Magnify Mondays Recap
As passionate and driven women, it can be easy to get agitated when our prayers, hopes and dreams don’t come to fruition quickly or when our plans are halted for reasons out of our control. For our Magnify Mondays back in August, Susan Deborahs gave us some great insights as to how we can learn to trust God during these seasons of waiting and how He proves His faithfulness time and time again.
Acknowledging God
In all your ways acknowledge him and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:6
The process of waiting is frustrating and it can be hard to recognise God. When we are flying high we love to praise God, yet in more slow-paced and trying times it is possible to forget Him altogether. By pushing ourselves to recognize God in difficult situations, we become more attentive and receptive to Him. We can trust the processes knowing that God is with us and faithful to lead us to where we need to be at the right time.
Changing Perspective
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5
Often, we want things immediately and if we get stuck waiting for a long time for them, we can give up. We stop praying, stop being expectant and we compromise or settle. It can be even more demotivating when we see others getting what we have been waiting for. But waiting is a process. Before you decide to stop waiting, consider adjusting your perspective. The Bible reassures us that God places us where we are meant to be, and in a season of waiting or a season of change, we must trust Him. The mindset of trusting God is key to changing our perspective. It means understanding that the wait is always worth it as God will give us the right things at the right time.
Understanding
Do not lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5
We are eager to see things change before our eyes in order to reassure ourselves that God is at work. The problem with this is that we are never in a position to see the whole picture, as we rely on our own understanding. This leads us to a place of frustration where we can question God and distance ourselves from Him if we do not see Him working in our lives the way we would like. Our desire to see and understand everything makes trusting God much harder. But remembering that God is at work no matter what it seems is central to trusting your process.
