God has a plan for everyone.
I believe we have a choice to actively choose what we think, as my career has progressed; I have learnt how to celebrate other women, comparison, I believe only leads to more anxiety and a continuous unhealthy cycle. Often at times when other women have got a role l haven't; l look at comparison in a positive way, whether it's their creativity, intelligence or prayer life. I try to see how l can learn from that. But ultimately it's about being happy for others and trusting in God that my opportunity will come all within God's plan.
‘We have a choice to actively choose what we think.’
Doubt, God and drive.
My career has been God-driven, as an actress with the uncertainty of getting roles or not getting roles I have definitely wrestled with my faith. I used to feel unworthy, I would be on set and feel like l shouldn't be there or don't deserve to be there. A big turning point for me came with one of my prayer groups, and I am now in a place l confidently feel like an actress.
‘There has been growth in how l handle disappointment.’
The gift of disappointment.
There have been massive disappointments in my career, some which have taken some time to get over. But, there has been growth in how I handle disappointment which has helped me learn what is essential. Understanding where to put my focus on when things are not good, and the realisation of controlling my feelings has helped me to be comfortable to be who l am all time, through a lot of praying and growth over the last 5 years.
