15 verses to help with courage

To have courage is to have strength in the midst of fear, pain or grief. It can truly be the most difficult thing to develop. Read these verses and be encouraged - you don’t have to ‘be brave’ by yourself, courage comes from God.

1 Chronicles 28:20

'Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”’

Job 11:18

‘You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.’

Acts 27:25

‘So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as He told me.’


James 5:8

'You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.’

Matthew 14:27
