Failure and Confidence
There are going to be moments when we will want to give up. We need to understand that feeling is part of the process and it's during these times that it is important to look at the people who have engaged with our brands and to use that as motivation to continue. We have to go through the process of failure in order to have the triumphant moments. It's crucial that we let go of the fear of failing as once we do that our confidence and passion will grow.
‘Push yourself. If you don't, no one else is going to.’
Humility is Key
It can be easy to get caught up in our achievements and place all that success on ourselves. However we need to look back at our journeys and recognise that it wasn't always plain sailing and the importance of others helping as had on our journey. Once we are humble, doors that we would never believe could open, will open. Whatever we do, we should aim to do it well as we never know who is watching or who we are inspiring. When others see us being humble, they will make calls for us, sometimes we don’t even have to do anything.
How Do I Network?
When looking to start a new venture or expand those we are reaching, networking is critical. One way to do this, is to attend events in our fields and set out to have conversations with those we don’t know. In this case, google is our best friend as all we need to do is search for events and attend. We will need to let go of fear and start the conversations with others and share our passions and listen to there's. It is during these conversations that things may click and we may be given new ideas or assistance in achieving the goals we already have.
‘Whatever you do have confidence, as if you don’t believe or have confidence in it, it won’t be successful.’
Bringing up leaders
When building our teams, we also have a responsibility to see that those in them grow. As those in our teams grow, as founders we need to be able to let them take on more responsibility once they have the confidence and the same vision and passion as us. When this happens we should let them begin to manage and allow them to make it their own. Not only will this help grow our businesses but will also help empower our teams and create a team that works together. We need to be humble and allow others to go through the doors.
